be afraid, be very afraid

homolka getting out tomorrow. and yes, i think she should be afraid. just like those girls were afraid of her in their dying minutes. did we get justice? no. is there a sense of closure and fairness? no. and while we (and by we of course i mean first the victim's families, but then us in the more general sense) were stewing about the deal that she got and the incredible injustice and suffering, we also got to pay taxes which helped pay for homolka's higher education (mine costs $25,000 so far), and her pretty lingerie (mine costs like $80 every time i go), and she got some plastic surgery to look different so that we wouldn't be able to recognize her (i haven't had any but those procedures go from a couple of thousand upwards- are you counting?). and now, she wants to be left alone and she wants her privacy. yeah, why don't we do that too. she's used to getting what she wants so why stop there? lets give her the privacy that she wants, and lets give the psych job that she has a degree in, so that she can find more unsuspecting victims (since we don't know what she looks like), and hell, while we're at it, lets throw in a beautiful ravine house in montreal suburbs, an SUV, a white picket fence, and some spending cash, after all, the poor woman hasn't been able to earn a living in 12 years, she's all tapped out (can you believe they don't want to let her profit off of the crimes that she so willingly committed and participated in?) we're such bastards for treating her so badly, of course she should get her privacy on top of everything that we've provided for her. how dare we demand to know where she is and what she's doing. it's not like she's done anything to deserve such treatment. oh wait, yes she did. gimme a break. when did we turn into such bleeding heart liberals that we treat our convicted criminals in jail better than the citizens that actually obey legal and moral laws, and not only try to give back to society, but try to better themselves to contribute to that society? i say stop giving her and ppl like her a free education, and start giving our kids a free education. lets take the money that we're wasting on above average prison incarceration conditions and give it to the shelters that try to help the homeless, the starved, the abused, and the suffering. lets help the ppl that are innocent but have run into bad luck. i'm sorry, but its getting to be too much, and we are sooner or later going to have to do something about it. otherwise, the only affordable way to get an education will be to commit a crime (i know its a little useless but you know what i mean). our generation needs to wake up and we need to start to teach not just respect, but accountability. that's the one thing that we're lacking in society, a society in which there is always an excuse for why it wasn't the person fault, how some lame ass tendency or behaviour is a defined psychological disorder, when the tv shows that our kids watch are responsible for the child's violence and not the parents or some other factor. enough is enough. if we don't start to think about it, and not accept it, we're going to regret it. no wonder ppl commit violence, rape, murder, and all the other vile things that some ppl do. its b/c they can. there's no deterrance. dead men don't rape.
